    Hey All,

I’m a commercial tech. The wife and I just moved on to a little acerage outside of town and I was going to buy a Goodman heat pump to put in but the guys at the local supply house are trying to push me toward a Bosch BOVA 1.0 they say it works great with existing Goodman furnace and with a new Goodman coil. I started in resi but haven’t worked with any of that equipment for years now. What do you guys think? Do any of you install Bosch? What’s been your experience?

  • I see you are new here so welcome to the greatest HVACR forum in the universe.
I don’t install Bosch but I like everything I have read about the technology and will probably put one in a future house of mine.

I’m tired of these mediocre “semi flammable” refrigerants. If we’re going to do it let’s do it right.

Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

  • R600a,

I appreciate the input. The technology does seem cool. I’m just curious if it will work with any coil and any furnace or air handler. I’ve read a few reviews from HO’s stating it doesn’t control humidity well.

It tries to maintain a 42 degree coil in cooling, 42 degrees is 42 degrees so I would think it should dehumidify okay. But I don’t know.

I believe it is all about setup. I hear it ramps the compressor slowly so if you set the low stage air flow too high it will cool the house before it gets a chance to dehumidify.
