IS VS worth premium on furnace only?
Hello all,I am in the final stages of the decision process on getting a new furnace installed. have chosen a contractor (most important) and am now looking at the model of furnace.
It comes down to VS or not. $**** difference between the two. I do not have AC. I live in KS and my heater is in my living area notice is a consideration – but **** is a lot of money to me.
What would you do? Have to get the furnace replaced this week. I can do the non-VS with no issues and I have to shuffle bills to make the other work.
Please do not add pricing to your posts. It is not allowed by forum rules – Thanks.

Reason: removed pricing
A furnace with a variable speed blower and a modulating gas valve can offer a slight bump in comfort, but in your case I would say no, they are not worth the extra expense.Save your money and stick with the simpler unit.
