JACE 6 recovery image

On my test bench at work I have an FX60. I use this particular JACE because at one point I was “messing with it” when I was teaching myself Niagara and I inadvertently did something that locked me out of the platform. Since then I can only log in to the station. It acts like the platform does not exist, I get the “ensure specified server is running” error. I thought at the time I messed it up because I was doing something with certificates and trying to talk to it via secure connection only, but my memory is a little shaky on this as it was some time ago.

So my question is, can I run the “npm6 recovery image and utility” and get access to the platform back (I assume I will have to recommission it afterwards). I just want to make sure I don’t make things worse than they already are by running that program! I’m a little worried I will loose any license files etc and it will become a brick.

Have you tried using Serial Shell to reset the platform credentials ?

yes, doesn’t help. I still can’t connect to it in WB, still get the “ensure server is running on specified port” error. The serial shell indicated daemon port is running on 3011, but when I use netscan it does not see that port as being available and WB cannot reach it. When I reset the credentials in serial shell it throws some error about the websocket…. I should have taken a screenshot of it.

Would only do that as a last resort. Its fiddly and really only for the sickest in cardiac arrest. Yours is far from that yet.

If you have serial shell access and its still running a station, turn on FTP and shoot it a clean dist.
