Mitsubishi Mini split MSZHR50VF stops cooling by itself

Hello, new member here so go easy.

I am after some advice on the operation of a mini split I had installed last year. I’m not sure if its a fault or not

I have an R32 Mitsubishi mini split installed July 21 but not used much until May 22.

The indoor unit is MSZHR50VF – it is installed upstairs in a landing / hall area some 3m above the floor. It is directly under 4 x large west facing skylights that are fitted with electric blackout blinds which are closed when HVAC is on

The out door unit is MHZHR50VF – it is installed on a north facing wall on a 7m line run and 2m below the inside unit.

The unit has a 5.2kW cooling rating

Current external ambient range is 23degC – 28deg C with humidity ranging from 30% to 80% and the internal unit is set to 21deg C

Cooling performance is good. Currently the unit is switched on 24/7 on auto setting. It ramps up during the day as temp rises as you would expect.

I have 2 other older Mitsubishi units in the house so am familiar with their operation.

The issue is that I have noticed that the unit just stops cooling by itself typically once per day. It just stops cooling and goes on fan vent mode. It does not show any fault lights and remains in cooling mode but is actually only blowing air around. Switching the unit off and on with the remote brings the unit back on line for cooling. It then works away for another 24hrs.

I have noticed the unit seems to stop at roughly similar times

Therefore I am wondering is there an energy saving feature built in to newer machines which stops the cooling if nobody adjusts the settings for a period? Nothing in the manual and I’d be surprised if that were the case

otherwise is there some scenario that would stop cooling but not show this? I have let it run for an hour and the cooling does not come back on by itself as far as I can see.

Appreciate any advice or thoughts. I can get the installer back but its a 6 week + service call wait so would be good to know if I had an issue or not. It does feel like some sort of control issue

Regards

Peter
